A Few Thoughts

Well, it has been a couple weeks since I last posted, so I thought I should maybe write a few things down since this is about as complex as my journaling goes as of late. :)  I always start out the year with the hope that I'll be better at writing in a journal, especially now that Chace is doing so many hilarious things lately, but for some reason it is so hard for me to remember!  I apologize for the rambling ahead of time!

In my last post I mentioned our little medical excursion with Trav!  Well, since then thank heavens we haven't had anymore episodes at the ER.  We did have to take our dear laptop to the Apple ER we'll say because darn pregnant-snack-all-the-time me spilled water on it and it died.  (It wasn't even a large glass of water or anything like that mind you!  It was left over water in a bowl from some veggies I had steamed... knew I should have had a donut instead!)  Of course when we took it in they were able to get the computer working fine, but our hard drive was not working according to the Apple people, so it's at the data specialist right now and we're praying that they can get all our pictures and files off of it!!  (Of course I haven't backed up our pictures, why would I do that! :(   SO, until then, we'll cross our fingers for good news.

On a brighter note though, if you look at that pregnancy tracker to the right, you'll see that we're to 32 weeks baby!  Ok, so there's still like 8 to go... but we're getting closer!  I'm almost freaking out a small bit because this girl only has two pairs of newborn pants and 2 newborn shirts and a few 0-3 month pjs and onesies.  We'll just cross our fingers she's not too small (but not TOO big of course) so she has some clothes when she arrives.  It's just so hard to figure out what size to get before she comes, but I remember from Chace that they certainly go through clothes quickly with all those diapers at first!  I've definitely been working on a few sewing projects lately for this little gal, so I'll post those soon!

Last night Trav was working so Kaleena invited Chace and I to a sweet Pizza and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang party with her younger siblings!  Chace LOVED having kids to play with, and liked the movie.  Couldn't help taking this pic because he hardly ever stays still for long but as long as he had his friend Maddi by him he just chilled (and then got up to dance with every song of course!)  Brought back a lot of memories of when my brothers and I would watch that movie almost every day!  Sorry mom! :)  Thanks Kaleena for giving us something to do last night!

Confessions of a Worry Wart

If you know me well, you probably already know that I am a bit of a worry wart.  I worry about finances, how the food I cook tastes, if I have been nice enough to people, finances, if our apartment is clean when people come over, if Chace is getting enough healthy food, blah, blah blah... and did I mention I worry about finances?  I feel really bad that Trav has to deal with me stressing over money all the time but I think we both are ready to someday get out of the student, hourly wage, pay check to pay check rut.  Sometimes I find myself worrying about the future too much that I forget to just enjoy the wonderful blessings we receive day to day.

So, I've been trying really hard to focus on how much we've received, rather than the opposite.  This past month Trav had a little battle with his gall bladder which sent him to the ER twice, lots of tests and finally surgery last week to have it removed.  Although you would think a stresser like me would flip, the opposite has actually happened and it has been awesome!  I've started to realize and gain an even greater affirmation that we have a Father in Heaven who does know everything and that he leads and blesses us if we choose to follow him.  I think of how the timing of the job opening that was given to me was amazing.  Just a short time after I accepted the part time job in September we found out I was pregnant.  That made for a long first three months of pregnancy with the 4:45am shifts, but with it came insurance benefits!  We were thrilled to have insurance for the arrival of this baby, but little did we know we were being watched over even more.  We haven't ever had real insurance for Trav, so without this job, we would have been paying mucho money for this gall bladder stuff!

It also happened at the beginning of the year when those tax returns come around.  Although you know we were planning on spending the return on an extravagant trip to the Republic of Pay Off Student Loans, we will now be able to pay off the medical bills that the insurance didn't cover and still have some for the baby as well.  Student loans can wait right.  :)   We have also been so blessed by the love of others.  My dear friend Kaleena showed up unexpectedly with a meal for us last week that saved me from going insane... I mean more insane.  Then Trav's sister came over yesterday and randomly brought us fruit, bread, cereal and snacks for Chace.  A big deal when Trav hasn't been able to work much this past month and the grocery budget is tight!  We have so many fabulous friends and family who help us out so much.  I really am so grateful for all the people who have been divinely placed in our lives!

So I'm really sorry this is such a long post, I could go on forever about what I've been realizing these past few weeks, but I just wanted to somehow show my gratitude for a loving Heavenly Father and all our friends and family.  I am so grateful to be a mother and a wife and couldn't ask for a better place to be at 23 years old.  And who could worry too much when you've got this little guy to cheer you up during recovery:

(Really, you thought I could post without a picture of the Chace man?)
