Oh the ER...

Well, we weren't planning on having to spend a bunch of time in the hospital for about 4 more months, however, yesterday I guess we were due for some medical excitement when this...

happened to Travis. He was helping a friend move in Tremonton and somehow (he can tell you the whole story) the trailer landed on his leg. We have no idea how it did not snap the bone in half. We are definitely being watched over. They took x-rays at the Tremonton ER and then transferred us to the Logan ER because they didn't have the right equipment to test for Posterior Compartmental Syndrome which is what they were afraid of. (Basically your muscle wastes away because of the intense pressure.) So after a huge needle was inserted into the worst part of the injury with no numbing (poor guy) the doctors finally could tell us that they thought he'd be ok, he just will have to stay off it, elevate it and ice it for a while. Man was he in a lot of pain though. I'm SO glad we have awesome friends who rushed him to the hospital, stayed with him until and then after I got there, and who have let us stay in their home because their is no way Trav was getting down those old basement stairs into our place! Although it's a bummer deal, we're know we are so blessed. It could have been 10 times worse! Cross your fingers for him that all will heal well! So far so good. Hopefully in 4 months we'll have a little better news from Logan Regional Hospital!
